What delivery methods are available?

We offer home delivery (Colissimo, UPS) and relay point delivery (Relais Colis, Mondial Relay).

What are the delivery times?

France: 72h standard, 24h express. Europe: 5 to 8 days (standard), 1 to 3 days (express). International: 14 to 21 days (standard), 2 to 5 days (express).

Is delivery free?

Yes, from €65 in France, €99 in Europe and €150 internationally.

Returns

What is the return period?

In accordance with our Terms of Sale, you have fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of the product to exercise your right of withdrawal, provided the products have not been used and are in their original intact box. Products made to your specifications or clearly personalized (engraving, custom configuration) cannot be returned.

How do I make a return?

Log in to your account, go to "My orders", select the relevant order, click "Make a return" and follow the instructions.

What is the refund timeline?

The refund is made within fourteen (14) days of the notification of your withdrawal, using the same payment method as the one used for the order.

Warranty

What does the Maison Château LAGUIOLE® warranty cover?

The commercial warranty covers manufacturing defects in products purchased on our website or from authorized retailers. It does not cover natural wear, accidents or unauthorized modifications.

How long is the warranty?

The duration is indicated on the product page. Products registered via the Privilege Member Program benefit from a lifetime warranty.

How to benefit from the warranty?

Submit your repair request online and return the product with your proof of purchase and the completed repair form.

What payment methods are accepted?

Are my payments secure?

Yes, your banking data is encrypted via SSL protocol and securely transferred through Stripe. It is never stored.

Can I use store credit or a gift card?

Yes, store credits are automatically added to your account. Gift cards are applied via a code at checkout.

Care & Maintenance

1. How do I clean my knife or sommelier corkscrew?

Always clean by hand with a soft damp cloth immediately after each use. Never use abrasive products or harsh detergents. Dry thoroughly before storing.

2. Can I put my knife or sommelier corkscrew in the dishwasher?

Dishwasher use is strictly inadvisable for all sommelier corkscrews and for knives with natural or mineral handles. Some composite or synthetic models may tolerate occasional dishwasher use (max 50°C), but hand washing is always recommended to preserve durability.

3. How do I care for my knife handle?

It depends on the material. Natural material handles (wood, horn, bone) require regular application of beeswax or linseed oil. Composites and synthetics simply need cleaning with a damp cloth. Metal handles must be dried immediately to prevent corrosion. Consult the corresponding section of our care guide for detailed instructions.

4. How do I care for my knife blade?

Clean with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately. Occasionally apply a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil (not vegetable oil). Sharpen regularly with a sharpening stone or steel suited to the type of steel. Warning: carbon steel blades must be dried after each contact with moisture.

5. My blade is losing its edge, what should I do?

Regular sharpening with a suitable sharpening stone or steel helps maintain the edge. If your blade requires professional sharpening, our repair service can handle it. See our Repair Service page.

6. The mechanism of my folding knife or sommelier is stiff, what should I do?

Clean the mechanism by removing any dirt or residue, then apply a few drops of food-grade mineral oil (not vegetable oil) to the axis, spring and worm (for sommeliers). Wipe off excess. If the problem persists, contact our repair service.

7. What oil should I use for maintenance?

Use only food-grade mineral oil (not vegetable oil). Vegetable oil can go rancid and damage materials. For wooden handles, beeswax or linseed oil are recommended. For brass bolsters, use a specialized product such as Mirror.

8. Is my Château LAGUIOLE® knife guaranteed for life?

Yes, all Château LAGUIOLE® knives and sommelier corkscrews benefit from a lifetime warranty under the Privilege Member Program. Register your product by scanning the QR code on your certificate of authenticity or visiting our Privilege Member Program page.

9. Do you offer a repair service?

Yes, we offer a maintenance and repair service for all Maison Château LAGUIOLE® products. Our master cutlers can perform polishing, sharpening or complete restoration. Visit our Repair Service page to submit a request.

10. How should I store my knife or sommelier corkscrew?

Wipe and dry thoroughly before storing. Keep in a dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight. For folding knives, avoid leaving the spring under tension. Use a case to protect from scratches and impacts.

Are my creations saved?

Yes, your creations are saved in your customer account, in the "My Creations" section. Once validated, a creation is final and cannot be modified.

Why create a customer account?

Is creating an account mandatory to place an order?

The Privilege Member Program guarantees the authenticity of your Château LAGUIOLE® product and provides a lifetime warranty.

How do I register my product?

Scan the QR code on the member card included in your product's gift box, then enter your information. You have 2 months from the date of purchase.

Is registration mandatory?

Yes, registration is required to benefit from the lifetime warranty. Otherwise, only the legal warranty applies.

Who is Maison Château LAGUIOLE®?

Maison Château LAGUIOLE® is a premium cutlery manufacturer, creator of the first Château LAGUIOLE® sommelier corkscrew in 1993. Our products are entirely handmade in our Thiers workshop, the French capital of cutlery.
