L'Iroquois corkscrew dark Blue 3155C PLA with white box packaging
REF: LW13077
Ancestral inspiration for universal values
L'Iroquois is the LIGNE W waiter's corkscrew, the one you open with one hand, over the table, without putting the bottle down. Its brushed stainless steel body carries three tools: a double lever system, two successive rests on the neck that draw the cork out in two stages, without forcing; a Teflon worm, the spiral that goes into the cork, coated so that it enters without tearing it; and a serrated foil cutter. That mechanism is the same on all 38 references of the range: only the handle changes. The L'Iroquois collection draws its inspiration from the ancestral values of the First Nations, respect for nature, community life and hospitality, and from materials chosen for their footprint, plant-based PLA and wood. On the site, the range gathers three handle lines around that single body: L'Iroquois Colors, twenty colours of PLA handle dyed throughout, at 24 €, in a white box; Urban Street Art, sixteen patterns printed by sublimation on a PBT handle, at 39 €, in a magnetic tube; and Urban Zinc, a zinc handle and 136 grams in the hand, at 49 €, in a white box or in a tube. PLA is not a petroleum plastic: it is a material made from renewable plant resources, sugar cane and corn. Dyed throughout, it gives a light handle that cannot chip since the colour is in the material itself, and it comes here in twenty shades, from white to midnight blue 296C. Within LIGNE W, L'Iroquois is the colour and pattern line, at the price of a working tool. L'Iroquois Wood uses exactly the same body and mechanism with a hevea handle, at 30 € in a box and 34 € in a tube. L'Essentiel, at 15 €, keeps the double lever on a soft TPR handle, with neither material nor pattern. Above them, W Origine at 45 € and W Signature from 120 to 250 € move up in material, oak barrel wood, woods and horns, and in packaging, a wax-sealed box or a magnetic wooden case, with longer catalogue warranties, 2 years and 5 years. Against a Château LAGUIOLE® sommelier knife, the difference is not a level of finish, it is a construction: the Château LAGUIOLE® carries a forged bee, one or two bolsters (the metal pieces set at the ends of the handle), liners (the metal plates that grip the handle and hold the mechanism) and guilloching (the decorative patterns engraved into the spring). L'Iroquois carries none of them: a brushed stainless steel body, a handle made of one single material, and the whole argument in the colour, the pattern or the weight of the metal. LIGNE W was founded in 2008 by Sébastien Lézier; its sommelier knives, noted for their design and their double lever, are made in France, in Thiers (Puy-de-Dôme), which our catalogue calls the French capital of cutlery. Since late 2017, LIGNE W has also run Château LAGUIOLE®, created in 1993 by the sommelier Guy Vialis, who died in 2016; both brands have lived since 2021 under the Maison Château LAGUIOLE umbrella. L'Iroquois is the line through which the house makes that service mechanism accessible: the same double lever, the same Teflon worm, the same foil cutter as on the more expensive sommelier knives of the catalogue, from 24 €. The MCL catalogue gives it a 1 year warranty, a duration confirmed by the CEO on 12/09/2026. The lifetime warranty does not apply to LIGNE W: it belongs to the Château LAGUIOLE® Privilege Member Programme and covers only Château LAGUIOLE® knives registered by their owner.

Handcrafted in France — Each LIGNE W is crafted in our workshop near Thiers, France, with exceptional expertise and a rigorous artisanal process.
Handle in PLA (polylactic acid), a plant-based bioplastic, coloured through.
The handle is moulded in PLA, a plastic made from fermented plant sugars, sugar cane and corn, rather than from petroleum. All twenty shades in the collection come from the same mould at the same price: the colour changes, the material does not.
Caring for this material
Hand wash in warm water, never in the dishwasher: PLA softens around 55 to 60 °C, a temperature most cycles exceed. Do not leave it in a car in the sun or near a heat source, and wipe it dry straight after use.

How to proceed?
- Scan the QR code on the back of the member card included in the box.
- Register your product by following the instructions on the dedicated page.
- Hand washing only: this corkscrew is not dishwasher safe. Do not immerse it or let it soak.
- After service, wipe the body, the worm and the handle with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid direct heat, prolonged damp and harsh detergents; do not leave the knife in a car in the sun.
- Mechanism: if the double lever feels stiff, one drop of food grade mineral oil on the pivots is enough.
- Store the knife dry, away from damp.
- Hand wash in warm water, never in the dishwasher: PLA softens around 55 to 60 °C, a temperature most cycles exceed. Do not leave it in a car in the sun or near a heat source, and wipe it dry straight after use.
To ensure the longevity, performance and elegance of your sommelier knife, please follow these care instructions:
- Hand wash only: this product is not dishwasher safe. Prolonged contact with water may damage materials and reduce durability. After each use, gently wipe your knife with a soft cloth. Do not immerse or soak in water.
- Protect from heat and moisture: avoid exposing your knife to intense heat, excessive humidity or harsh chemicals.
- Handle with care: protect the handle and mechanisms from impacts and drops, which could damage the blade or structure.
- Mechanism maintenance: if you notice slight resistance in the mechanism, apply a few drops of food-grade mineral oil to the moving parts. Professionals should lubricate every 2 weeks.
- Proper storage: after use, store your knife in a dry place, away from moisture, to preserve its performance and quality.
- What is the difference between the PLA, PBT and zinc handles?
- The mechanism and the brushed stainless steel body are identical. PLA is a plant-based bioplastic dyed throughout, sold in twenty colours at 24 €; PBT is a technical thermoplastic that takes the sublimation-printed patterns, in yearly editions at 39 €; zinc is a metal handle that brings the knife to 136 g, at 49 €.
- White box or magnetic tube: what changes?
- Only the packaging. L'Iroquois Colors comes in a white gift box, Urban Street Art in a transparent magnetic tube, and the Urban Zinc exists in both, at the same price of 49 € (LW16101 in a box, LW16103 in a tube).
- Is the PLA handle really biodegradable?
- PLA is a bio-based material made from sugar cane and corn extracts.
- Is it dishwasher safe?
- No, none of the three materials. The double lever and the worm do not take prolonged immersion, and dishwasher heat can deform a PLA handle. Wiping it with a dry cloth after service is enough.
- What is the warranty?
- One year, covering material and manufacturing defects in normal use, for L'Iroquois Colors, Urban Street Art and Urban Zinc. The lifetime warranty the house mentions elsewhere is the one of the Château LAGUIOLE® Privilege Member Programme: it covers Château LAGUIOLE® knives registered by their owner and does not extend to the LIGNE W ranges. The legal warranty of conformity applies in addition, under the conditions set by law.
- Can it be engraved?
- The range is declared customisable in our catalogue and the page offers a « Personnaliser » button.
